The syrup: Add 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar in a small saucepan and simmer until the sugar dissolves. Let cool and add 1 teaspoon of rose water extract. Keep the syrup in the refrigerator.
If serving immediately, add rose petals to the simple syrup for a nice presentation.
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, pour the gin, lemon juice and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake for more than 20 seconds to allow the ice to melt and dilute the ingredients.
Add a touch of club soda if you prefer!
Strain over a large ice cube and garnish with a touch of lemon and rose petals.
